Bethany Center offers preventative health and wellness activities to keep residents independent, strong and healthy. With a full-time Service Coordinator/Social Worker and a part-time health educator located on site, Bethany Center residents can access the care and services they need. The ongoing coordination and excellent care we provide residents helps them feel secure, knowing their needs and concerns are always met. The majority of residents qualify for our health and wellness programs, provided at no charge to the participants.
Our Service Coordinator is placed at Bethany Center through our partnership with the Well Elder Program (weblink), through Northern California Presbyterian Homes and Institute on Aging. The coordinator works with residents to assess their needs and connects them with community-based organizations and government agencies that offer services to meet those needs.
The Service Coordinator also advocates on behalf of residents in their relationships with Bethany Center management, long-term care professionals, physicians, medical groups, family members, hospital discharge planners, and others. Additional wellness support services include:
° A gymnasium equipped with exercise equipment
° Weekly group fitness classes
° Health education sessions, featuring interactive quizzes and Q & A
sessions
° Connection to in-home health support services (residents may contract with
On Lok Lifeways for continuing healthcare)
° Home-delivered meals through Meals on Wheels and Centro Latino
